The CCIE Wireless certification was published in 2009. To become a CCIE Wireless, we must pass both the written qualification exam and hands-on lab exam.

- The CCIE Written Exam, this exam (version 2.0) is a 2-hour test with 80-110 questions that will validated that a wireless engineer has the expertise to plan, design, implement, operate, and trobleshoot complex WLAN networks.
- The CCIE lab exam is an eight-hour, hands-on exam which requires you to configure a series of networks to given specifications. The lab focuses on implementing Enterprise WLAN solutions, such as implementing the Autonomous infrastructure, Unified infrastructure, Unified Controllers and AP’s, Unified WCS and Location and implementing Voice over Wireless.
